Before 1948, with the help of the British Mandatory Power, the Jewish settlers in Palestine established a robust economic infrastructure consisting of industrial, financial, and agricultural enterprises. Many of these companies played foundational roles in the development of the region and still exist today as major “Israeli” corporations.
