Ein Ya’akov
July 14, 2025Me’ona is a moshav located in the north of the occupied Palestinian territories, situated between the colonies of Ma’alot-Tarshiha and Nahariya. It was established in 1949 on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian villages of Tarshiha and al-Kabri, approximately ten kilometers east of al-Kabri. The settlement was founded by Zionist immigrants and refugees from North Africa and Romania.
The name “Me’ona,” like that of the nearby settlement of Ein Ya’akov, is derived from the Book of Deuteronomy.
As of 2021, the colony had a population of 974 settlers.
