July 14, 2025Gurin is an agricultural settlement (moshav) located in the Western Galilee near Ma’alot-Tarshiha. It was established in 1950 by immigrants from Yemen after they spent several months living in Rosh HaAyin. In 1951, immigrants from North Africa joined the founders. The name of the moshav is the Hebrew version of the Arabic name of the area. It was established on lands that formerly belonged to the depopulated Palestinian villages of Iqrit and Khirbat ‘Arabin, whose inhabitants were displaced in 1948.
As of 2021, the settlement’s population was 686 settlers.
