Ofakim Colony
September 6, 2025The colony is located near the occupied city of Ashkelon. It was established on January 12, 1949, on the lands of the depopulated village of Barbara in the Gaza district, directly south of it, in order to prevent its original residents from returning.
In 2021, the number of settlers there reached approximately 509. During the October 2023 war, clashes took place in the colony with Palestinian fighters, during which they seized vehicles inside it.
