November 2, 2025Azrikam is a moshav located near Ashdod. As of 2014, it had a population of approximately 1,318 settlers. The settlement was established in 1950 on the ruins of the depopulated Palestinian village of Bayt Daras by Jewish immigrants from Tunisia.
In the early years, the settlers lived in tents without access to electricity, water, or gas. The destroyed village of Bayt Daras had relied primarily on animal husbandry and rainfed agriculture as its main sources of income. The village was destroyed by Zionist forces on June 11, 1948.
