November 2, 2025Gev’a is a collective community (a form of kibbutz) within the Gilboa Regional Council, located in the Jezreel Valley, east of the city of Afula.
The community was established in 1921 by immigrants from Russia and Poland who arrived in occupied Palestine during the Second Aliyah. Later, additional founding groups joined, including a group of workers from Kastina and Jerusalem, and the “Dromia” group. During the 1930s and 1940s, new members from Lithuania, Latvia, and Hungary also joined the community.
The community was named after the hill on which it was established. It was founded near the depopulated Palestinian village of Qumiya, in the District of Baysan (Beisan).
