November 3, 2025Giv‘ati is a moshav located in the southern part of occupied Palestine, near Ashdod, on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of Bayt Daras. In 2014, the settlement’s population was approximately 941 settlers. The moshav was established in 1950 by veterans of the Israeli occupation army and Egyptian immigrants on the ruins of Bayt Daras, a Palestinian village situated northeast of the city of Gaza, about 32 kilometers away and 50 meters above sea level. The village’s lands covered an area of 16,357 dunams. Bayt Daras was destroyed by Israeli forces on June 11, 1948.
