November 3, 2025Kiryat Malakhi is a settlement established in 1951 on the lands of the Palestinian town of Qastina, which was located along the main road between the city of al-Majdal and the Jerusalem–Jaffa route. The town was depopulated and destroyed by the Israeli Givati Brigade in 1948.
The settlement is located in the southern part of the occupied territories, approximately 17 kilometers (11 miles) northeast of Ashkelon, and covers an area of approximately 4,632 dunams.
According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of the settlement was approximately 20,600 settlers at the end of 2009.
