November 4, 2025Bnei Re’em is a religious settlement located in central occupied Palestine. The moshav was named after Rabbi Gerer, Rabbi Abraham Mordechai Alter. “Re’em” is a Hebrew acronym.
Bnei Re’em was established in 1949 by Zionist immigrants from Eastern Europe and Zionist refugees from Yemen on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of al-Masmiyya al-Kabira. In 2022, the number of settlers there was approximately 1,379.
