Moshav Mishmar HaShiv’a
November 6, 2025Magshimim is a settlement located in the central part of the occupied Palestinian territory, near the settlement of Yehud. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the area of Magshimim was part of the Nahiya of Lydda, which encompassed the present-day Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut area in the south to Elad in the north, stretching from the eastern hill slopes across the Lod Valley to the outskirts of Jaffa in the west.
The moshav was established in 1949 by demobilized soldiers from the Israeli occupation forces on land that formerly belonged to the Palestinian village of Al-‘Abbasiyya, whose residents were depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. They were later joined by immigrants from Germany, Iraq, and Poland.
As of 2022, the settlement had a population of 1,091 settlers.
