Gvulot is an agricultural colony (kibbutz) in the northwest of Beersheba. It was founded in 1943 by settlers from Romania and Turkey, who were members of the "Hashomer Hatzair" movement, with support from the "Jewish National Fund." It was the second modern settlement in the Negev and the first in the Gaza region. The role of this kibbutz was to guard the lands of the "Jewish National Fund," conduct research on the soil and climate of the area, and examine its potential for agriculture.
