November 5, 2025Barkai is an Israeli kibbutz located on the western side of Wadi Ara. It was established on May 10, 1949, on land that formerly belonged to the depopulated Palestinian village of Wadi Ara, in the Haifa Subdistrict.
As of 2019, the population of settlers in the kibbutz was 553.
