November 5, 2025Ofer is a moshav located in the north of the occupied Palestinian territories, south of the city of Haifa. It was established on the lands of the depopulated villages of Ayn Ghazal and al-Suwaymir, in the Haifa district. As of 2021, the settlement had a population of 660 settlers. The moshav was founded in 1950 by immigrants from India and Iran. Its name is derived from “Ayn Ghazal,” which means “Spring of the Gazelles.”
